Backup Reminder

August is almost half over and I still have no digital scrapbook layouts to show you. I'm such a procrastinator! LOL! Oh, but I have an excuse this time. I spent most of my computer time clearing up space in my hard drive and then I'll be backing up all my files.

I think I was not the only one who panicked when one of the ADSD Designers announced that her EHD crashed on her. (Her files were recovered by her genius hubby, thankfully. But that was enough of a warning for me.) I couldn't begin to imagine what I would do if I lost ALL my files and couldn't get them back.

I usually backup my digital scrapbook files once a month and on DVDs only. But, when I heard about this disaster, I started to back up my hard disk and external hard disk. I'm still sorting ALL my files. I'll be backing them up after. Surely, DVD's just won't be enough for my 100+GB HD and 300+ EHD so I started searching the net for online back-up solutions. Highly recommended was Mozy.com. I immediately signed up for a free trial account. It came with 2GB free space and a software to download and install. I'm trying it right now. When it's working backing up files, I don't even notice it's there.

I plan on getting the MozyHome account that comes with unlimited space. Maybe next month because this month's digiscrap budget is gone.

I am almost done with the clean-up and back-up tasks so hopefully, the second-half of August would be more productive - digiscrap-wise. So, a friendly warning and reminder to you - digiscrappers. Back-up!
