I finally have the courage to post my first commercial use freebie! I played around with Photoshop CS2 and followed one of the many tutorials on the Internet on extractions that I 'googled'.
First, this is the photo I took of the flower.
And this is after I extracted the flower.
I still think I haven't mastered the technique of how to extract, though. If you zoom in on the flower, you'll see that the edge is not that smooth. Maybe I have to practice some more and follow another tutorial.
In any case, I am giving away the finished product of my lesson to anyone who wants it.
Included in the pack is the grayscale image and 4 recolored flowers. I also included the original extracted flower because if you look closely at the photo, you could clearly see that the center is full of pollen. Maybe you could recolor the flower and still leave the yellow pollen intact. I sure would love to see that and learn how it is done!
Have fun with this one! (This is ok for commercial use.)

Oh, by the way. I 'enrolled' at a month long program for aspiring designers at Funky Playground Designs.

Our first assignment for this week is to make a mini-kit with a specific set of requirements. If you sign-up for their newsletter, you get the password and links to the kits of ALL the designers who participated. I'm telling you now, there are some awesome designers in the class roster! I can't wait to get my hands on that newsletter... :)
